Did you hear about . . .? This week in news. 2/1/2020

Hey folks! Back again with some board game news! This time it’s all Kickstarter stuff. Once again, these aren’t things I’ve tried or played, but things I found interesting and coming out soon.

Matchbox Collection

First up, Matchbox collection by ThunderGryph Games. There are 5 games that are going to be coming to Kickstarter on March 3rd. What makes this collection interesting is the premise behind this line. Each game comes in a box that’s like a matchbox, has small components, and plays in 20 minutes. Some are solo games, meaning only one player, but others look like they can support up to 4. Given the success of the Tiny Epic Game series and Mint Box games, I can see this one getting a lot of buzz and being funded fast.

Niwri’s Marvelous Menagerie

This is currently on Kickstarter. If you play 5e D&D, this one might be for you. Are you tired of skeletons, zombies, goblins, and oozes? Well, this book contains fleshed out animals that will fill your world. Mammals, Fish, Birds, this looks like it has a lot to inspire a Harry Potter-esque adventure locating magical beasts.

The Level Up

Do you have a small space to play games? Are you constantly fighting over table space and where to put your snacks, cups, and then game pieces? This Kickstarter looks to solve that problem, if you have it. I like that it breaks down and is easily transported. I’ve got a big enough table that I don’t need to worry too much about this issue, but I still like that people are looking to solve this problem and bring it to others.
